- GHG emissions quantification is subject to uncertainty when measuring activity data, determining emission factors, and considering scientific uncertainty inherent in the Global Warming Potentials.
- Since the numbers are rounded, the totals may not add up exactly.
- ※1...Scope1:Direct CO2 emissions from fuel use (energy-related)
〈Calculation criteria for CO2 emissions in FY2024〉
Following is used:
Ministry of the Environment: List of calculation methods and emission factors / Factors to be used for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions in FY2023 - ※2...Scope2:Indirect CO2 emissions associated with use of electricity
purchased and indirect CO2 emissions associated with steam usage
〈Calculation criteria for CO2 emissions in FY2024〉
For electric power in Japan, base emission factor (non-fossil power adjusted) were used.
For electric power in overseas, emission factors based on contracts with electric power suppliers or country-specific emission factors from IEA Conversion Factors 2023 were used.
Emissions from renewable energy use is calculated with the CO2 emission factor set at zero. - ※3...Scope3 Category 1:The scope of the aggregation includes the purchase of
materials, parts, die equipment, supplied and received parts, as well as outsourcing processing
costs.
〈Calculation criteria for CO2 emissions in FY2023, FY2024〉 Following is used:
LCI data base AIST-IDEA Ver.3.4(IPCC2021 without LULUCF AR6)
Research Laboratory for IDEA, RISS, AIST
Ministry of the Environment "Emission Factor Database (Ver. 3.5) for Calculating Organizational Greenhouse Gas Emissions through the Supply Chain" - ※4...Scope1:Due to changes in the calculation method, the figures for both consolidated and standalone results from FY2020 to FY2023 have been revised.
- ※5...Scope2:Due to changes in the calculation method, the figures for both consolidated and standalone results from FY2020 to FY2023 have been revised.
- ※6...Scope3 Category 1:Due to changes in the calculation method, the figures from FY2021 onward have been revised.
Of the data presented here, CO2 emissions marked with ☆ and ★ have
obtained third-party assurance from KPMG AZSA Sustainability Co., Ltd.
