In accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we will thoroughly comply with the laws and regulations of each country and region in which we conduct business activities. In the unlikely event that an adverse effect on human rights is directly caused or an indirect effect becomes apparent, we will take appropriate measures to rectify or remedy the situation.<br> Futaba has established the Futaba Group Human Rights Policy as its highest policy regarding human rights. Based on these guidelines, we will promote management that further respects human rights in each country and region where we conduct business activities. <\/p>\r\n    <div class=\"btn1 noExtIcon centeredBtns\">\r\n      <a href=\"\/assets\/uploads\/en\/pdf\/3bc503f612f1bec0b88a1ead206d3a488b774f4c.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"pdfIconLink\">Human Rights Policy of the Futaba Group.pdf<\/span><\/a>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <h2>Promotion system<\/h2>\r\n    <p>We work with relevant internal organizations such as the Corporate Planning Center and the Purchasing Center to disseminate information within and outside the company. In addition, we report the progress of initiatives related to human rights to members of the Board of Directors at the end of each fiscal year.<\/p>\r\n    <h2>Human rights due diligence<\/h2>\r\n    <p class=\"mb50\">With the aim of respecting human rights on a global scale, we have selected the following four priority action themes for human rights compliance and have conducted surveys and field investigations at Group companies in Japan and overseas. Although our surveys have not identified any human rights issues with apparent impacts that should be addressed immediately, we will continue to identify potential risks. In addition, in FY2024, we began holding human rights seminars for suppliers and face-to-face communication and exchange of opinions with some of our suppliers.<\/p>\r\n    <h3>Four priority action themes<\/h3>\r\n    <p> \u3000\u30001\uff0eProhibition of discrimination, respect and inclusiveness of diversity<br> \u3000\u30002\uff0eProhibition of harassment<br> \u3000\u30003\uff0eProhibition of illegal immigrant labor and forced labor<br> \u3000\u30004\uff0eProhibition of child labor<br>\r\n    <\/p>\r\n    <h2>Initiatives for the prevention of harassment<\/h2>\r\n    <p>We designate December of each year as Harassment Prevention Month, in order to deepen understanding of harassment and prevent harassment before it happens. In addition to sending out a message from the President regarding the prevention of harassment and placing awareness posters, in FY2024 we conducted VR (virtual reality) education for managers to simulate harassment. Going forward, we will continue our efforts to eradicate harassment.<\/p>\r\n    <h2>Initiatives for Respect of Human Rights in the Supply Chain<\/h2>\r\n    <p class=\"mb50\">Futaba promotes procurement activities considerate of human rights. We believe that efforts to respect human rights must be promoted not only by our company but throughout the entire supply chain. Therefore, we have incorporated items related to respect for human (human rights and labor) into our 'Supplier Sustainability Guidelines. We have exchanged a 'Memorandum on Respect for human (Human Rights and Labor)' and request regular self-assessments and ongoing efforts for corrective actions. We also recognize that responsible purchasing of mineral resources and raw materials is an important issue across the supply chain, and we regularly conduct global surveys on the use of conflict minerals and extended minerals.<br><br>We ask our suppliers to adhere to the principles of respect for human as outlined in the 'Futaba Group Human Rights Policy' and the 'Supplier Sustainability Guidelines'.<\/p>\r\n    <p class=\"middleTitle\">Events of respect of human (human rights and labor)<\/p>\r\n    <p> \u3000\u3000\uff11\uff0eElimination of discrimination, and Diversity & Inclusion<br> \u3000\u3000\uff12\uff0eProhibition of Harassment<br> \u3000\u3000\uff13\uff0eProhibition of Child labor<br> \u3000\u3000\uff14\uff0eProhibition of Illegal Migrant Labor, Forced Labor<br> \u3000\u3000\uff15\uff0eWages and benefits<br> \u3000\u3000\uff16\uff0eWorking Hours<br> \u3000\u3000\uff17\uff0eDialogue and consultation with employees<br> \u3000\u3000\uff18\uff0eHuman Resources Development<br> \u3000\u3000\uff19\uff0eSafe and Healthy Working Environment<br>\r\n    <\/p>\r\n    <p><\/p>\r\n    <div class=\"btn1 noExtIcon centeredBtns\">\r\n      <a href=\"\/assets\/uploads\/en\/pdf\/customer_csr_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"pdfIconLink\">Supplier Sustainability Guidelines<\/span><\/a>\r\n    <\/div>\r\n    <!--\r\n    <h2>Consultation and Reporting Desk<\/h2>\r\n    <p class=\"mb50\"> The Company has established the Futaba Helpline, an internal helpline that allows anonymous reporting and consultations, in order to detect and resolve internal issues early. In addition to the internal helpline, the head office and domestic Group companies have set up an external helpline at a law firm outside the Company for the wide range of usage including family members, retirees, and employees of major trading partners. Overseas Group companies have a similar mechanism to that in Japan. The helplines target violations of laws and internal rules, as well as issues related to human rights and environmental protection, all of which can significantly impact the company. The reports and consultations are fact-checked in collaboration with dedicated departments to speedily resolve problems. Internal reporting rules are managed in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act. The content of reporting is regularly reported to Directors and Audit & Supervisory Board Members. In FY2023, we received 58 reports and consultations (11 at Futaba Head Office and 47 at Group companies in Japan and overseas). Many of the reports concerned harassment or violation of internal rules, and we have responded to them appropriately.
