In addition, we are working to reduce oil consumption and industrial waste output, and are striving to promote recycling by improving the level of separation of unneeded materials.<br>In the fuel system parts business, we are focusing on the development of products using recycled resin.<br>Going forward, we will be mindful of activities toward the circular economy, continuing to promote business activities toward conserving resources, eliminating waste, and strengthening recycling.<\/p>\r\n    <h2>Initiatives to waste reduction<\/h2>\r\n    <p class=\"mb50\">We are aiming to reduce the amount of waste produced (including general waste) by 11% compared to 2019 levels by FY2030.<br>We are working to limit waste generation through improved operational efficiency. Additionally, we believe that waste can become a resource if properly sorted, so we are striving to reduce the amount of waste by enhancing our sorting accuracy.<br>Regarding the groundwater inflow into press pits that occurred in some plants in FY2021, we have implemented water stoppage measures and continue to monitor their effectiveness.<\/p>\r\n    <p class=\"lg2 mb20\">Waste output\uff08Non-consolidated\uff09<\/p>\r\n    <figure class=\"alignCenter mb30 caption-adjust\">\r\n      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/futabasangyo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/themes\/blank-theme\/assets\/en\/images\/csr\/recy_img01.jpg\" alt=\"Initiatives to waste reduction\">\r\n      <figcaption class=\"sm2 mt20 txL caption-adjust-text\">* The amount of waste outputs in FY2021 significantly increased due to an extraordinary factor: the inflow of underground water in a pit excavation accompanied with the introduction of new stamping machine.<\/figcaption>\r\n    <\/figure>\r\n    <h2>Initiatives to reduce steel usage<\/h2>\r\n    <p class=\"mb30\">Improving material yield is an important activity in pursuing minimization of material needed to make one product. Each production site makes steady and repeated efforts to reduce the size of materials by millimeters. Countermeasures against root causes are also important in preventing the outflow of defective products.<br>Therefore, we also focus globally on activities to minimize loss and waste and reduce waste within the production process. By using non-destructive testing equipment, we reduce scraps from daily inspections and promote overall resource-saving and waste reduction.<\/p>\r\n\r\n    <p class=\"lg2 mb20\">Reduction of waste within the production process\uff08Non-consolidated\uff09<\/p>\r\n    <figure class=\"alignCenter mb30 caption-adjust\">\r\n      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/futabasangyo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/themes\/blank-theme\/assets\/en\/images\/csr\/recy_img02.jpg\" alt=\"Initiatives to reduce steel usage\">\r\n      <!--<figcaption class=\"sm2 mt20 txL caption-adjust-text\">* The amount of waste within the production process for FY2021 has been amended.<\/figcaption>-->\r\n    <\/figure>\r\n    <h2>Initiatives to reduce oil usage<\/h2>\r\n    <p class=\"mb30\">To reduce the amount of fuel used for gasoline-powered forklifts, which account for nearly 70% of all oil use, we are shifting to electric forklifts and small electric vehicles. In FY2024, 88.6% of forklifts were shifted to electric ones. Going forward, we will continue to reduce the overall number of forklifts by improving distribution.<br> Also, to contribute to making effective use of resources through recycling, the processing oil for product processing is filtered and reused as much as possible.<\/p>\r\n    <p class=\"lg2 mb20\">Shift to electric forklifts (including domestic Group companies)<\/p>\r\n    <figure class=\"alignCenter mb50\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/futabasangyo.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/themes\/blank-theme\/assets\/en\/images\/csr\/recy_img03.jpg\" alt=\"Initiatives to reduce oil usage\"><\/figure>\r\n\r\n    <h2>Initiatives for water resources<\/h2>\r\n    <ul class=\"pcHalfBlocks -spNarrow mb30\">\r\n      <li>\r\n        <p class=\"mb30\">\r\n          In order to continue our business activities, we regard drought as a water resource risk, and we are promoting activities to reduce water intake globally by FY2050.\r\n        <\/p>\r\n        <p class=\"mb30\">\r\n          Although there were concerns about an increase in water intake from FY2023 onward due to the recovery trend in production, water consumption has been on a decreasing trend globally, partly due to the results of reduction activities.
